4. Editorial Independence & Content

Our editorial integrity is the cornerstone of everything we publish. Readers trust us because our recommendations are driven by data, testing, and expertise - never by advertiser influence.

OptimumRouter maintains strict editorial independence. Our reviews, ratings, recommendations, and editorial content are produced without influence from advertisers, manufacturers, or affiliate partners. Key principles include:

  • Research-First Methodology: All product evaluations are based on standardized testing protocols, performance benchmarks, and real-world usage scenarios.
  • Firewall Between Editorial & Commercial: Our editorial team operates independently from our business development and affiliate operations. No advertiser has pre-approval rights over content.
  • Transparency in Funding: We clearly disclose how our content is funded, including affiliate relationships, sponsorships, and advertising revenue.
  • Correction Policy: We promptly correct factual errors. Corrections are noted with timestamps and explanations of what changed and why.
  • No Pay-for-Placement: Product rankings and "best of" lists are determined solely by our editorial team based on testing results, value assessment, and user needs.

While we strive for accuracy, the content on this Site is provided for informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional networking advice, IT consulting, or engineering recommendations. Always consult qualified professionals for network architecture decisions affecting business-critical infrastructure.

5. Affiliate Disclosure & Monetization

OptimumRouter participates in various affiliate marketing programs. This means we may earn commissions on purchases made through links on our Site. These affiliate relationships are fundamental to our business model and enable us to provide free, high-quality content to our readers.

How Affiliate Relationships Work

  • When you click on product links and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.
  • Affiliate commissions do not influence our editorial decisions, product rankings, or review scores.
  • We may earn different commission rates from different retailers and manufacturers.
  • Some links may use tracking cookies that persist for varying durations (typically 24 hours to 30 days, depending on the affiliate program).
  • We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and similar affiliate programs.

FTC Compliance

In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 2026 Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose all material connections between OptimumRouter and the products or services we recommend. Our affiliate disclosures are placed in clear, conspicuous locations proximate to the relevant content. Penalties for non-disclosure can reach $51,744 per violation under current FTC enforcement guidelines.

Our Promise: We will never recommend a product solely because it offers higher affiliate commissions. Our recommendations are based on testing, research, and genuine value to our readers. If a product doesn't meet our standards, it doesn't make our list - regardless of the commission structure. Read our ethics policy
